Today I wrote a letter, addressed to my old lover
Just to ask him how he is and to say "hello"
We were very close once, when we were a couple
And it scares me how the years so quickly go.
I remember when I'd visit, I used to drive six hours
So that I could be with him for a few days
I didn't mind the price, I'd gladly sacrificed
To spend my sleeping hours in his embrace.
Now it seems to me that I've been foolish for some time
'Cause I don't remember if it was his fault or it was mine
And it doesn't matter anyway the anger's past
I just want the friendship back we thought would always last.
